Local MP Felicity Buchan Visits Avondale Park Primary School To Witness Innovative And Award-Winning Financial Education Programme

Felicity Buchan, MP for Kensington, joined Year 6 pupils at Avondale Park Primary school today to witness an award-winning financial education programme, delivered by the charity MyBnk on behalf of The Centre for Financial Capability.

She joined the year 6 class for their ‘My Money’ session, the first of the three sessions delivered by the charity MyBnk, and watched pupils get to grips with the importance of building positive money habits early in order to build stronger saving habits for later life.

Felicity Buchan, MP for Kensington said:

“It was great to see the KickStart Money programme in action in my constituency at Avondale Park Primary School today.

“Money management is a vital life skill and, with research suggesting that attitudes to money are formed as young as seven, it is great to see this important initiative helping to equip children with the necessary financial skills for adult life. Financial education at a primary level presents a real opportunity to level the playing field and build strong financial capability for every child, better preparing the next generation for future economic crises. I look forward to seeing more KickStart Money sessions taking place in Kensington and encourage all primary schools to sign up to this excellent initiative.”
